As in, my build can target 1620p60 Ultra settings in Chivalry 2 and also run Tales of Arise at 4K60 (not even the current-gen consoles can achieve this), and yet Killing Floor 2 mops the floor with my rig. Again, this is what happens when a game engine from 2006 gets bloated to hell and back. those need to be disabled manually.Īlso, seeing that i have issues running this game on an RTX 3070, I think you might wanna target a 720p rendering resolution. If you're on a higher resolution monitor, you're on your own:ĮDIT: This config DOES NOT change SSAO or screen-space reflection settings. Assuming you're on a 1080p display, these values should give a reference point to work with. Any further tweaking will likely require you to play with the ScreenPercentage values. The best I can do to help is to you is to share my custom Low Settings config. Since then, it has received 6 years worth of content bloat that fills the game with far more content than what Epic Games expected out of Unreal Engine 3. Killing Floor 2 pushed the absolute hard limits of a game engine from 2006. So the real question is, what is wrong with the Steam version that produces this 1 second stutter issue where as the Epic version performs fine? Is it something workshop related? Steam overlay perhaps? Didn't try quick play or server browser, both tests were done offline solo on Biotics Lab. And surprisingly it works just fine, no 1 second stutter/lag on first kill. I remembered I claimed the free copy of Killing Floor 2 via Epic Games, so I uninstalled the Steam version and removed any lingering files and folders just to be safe and installed the Epic version. So I'm scratching my head on why suddenly I'm having this issue. Then I took off the fps limiter via nvidia control panel. Restored everything back to default and still the issue persists. The game stutters/lags for a second then it doesn't happen again until the next match.Īt first I figured it was something related to KF2 Tweaker since I used that after first time set up. I just recently picked up Killing Floor 2 from the Humble Bundle Horror Sale, and the first noticeable issue I have with the game is when ever you get your first kill in a match.
